Repetition has long shaped how we create and live—from handwoven textiles to industrial production and digital systems. Once embedded in craft and cultural memory, repetition has evolved into a mechanism of efficiency, standardization, and control.
Repetition of Control explores how patterns organize labor, bodies, and systems across scales—from the hand to the machine, from material processes to built environments. While repetition can discipline and regulate, it can also hold space for memory, identity, and resistance.
This open call invites artists and designers to explore repetition as a structure of labor, technology, and human interaction. Through textiles, pattern-based practices, system-driven works, or spatial installations, we welcome projects that examine how repetitive forms operate across different scales—from the hand to the machine, from the body to the built environment—and how they shape our experience of production, rhythm, and participation.
