IN[COMMON] was a multidisciplinary group exhibition presented as part of the Seattle Design Festival 2026, bringing together eight artists and designers working across architecture, photography, moving image, graphic design, illustration, publishing, and spatial practice.

Beginning with the question “What do we actually have in common?”, the exhibition explored the shared experiences that connect us across different disciplines, cultures, and backgrounds. Memory, identity, nature, ritual, time, transformation, and belonging emerged as recurring threads throughout the works.

Rather than seeking sameness, IN[COMMON] placed distinct perspectives alongside one another to reveal how differently we experience the same world. Across intimate memories, cultural rituals, shifting identities, collective spaces, and unfamiliar landscapes, participating artists and designers reflected on the ways we remember, forget, change, inhabit, and search for connection — suggesting that what we hold in common lies not in identical experiences, but in the shared human acts through which we make sense of ourselves, one another, and the world around us.
